JoJo's First Festivity

c
Unbelievable...

Josiah is turning five this next week.

I honestly cannot fathom it. It is crazy to think that he is getting ready to be school-aged. I still recall him in that Jumpin' Johnny during his amazing tricks.

This week he told me that I'll just need to get a new baby because I was kissing him too much.

So depressing.

Tonight, we are going over to our friends Abe and Amy so Josiah can share a birthday party with their daughter Claire. It will only be the four of us but Jo is very pumped about the whole thing.

I'll be sure to post some pics.

Promised Pictures...

Polar Opposites?

I do the same thing many mornings...

Crawl out of bed...kiss the boys...take the dog out and then say to myself, "I wonder what the weather will be today?"

I usually go in then and sit at the computer and type in my weather along with some other destinations that I like to know about.

San Antonio
Springfield
Danville (Poor Steph)
Covington
Lafayette

etc...

Usually if it's warm here then it's making its way to warm in most of the other places. Not so the case today!

I typed in my city and it looks like we are in for a beautiful day. Crystal blue skies and topping around 60 degrees-which feels much warmer when you've been in the thirties or forties!

I plugged in Danville and seriously...I thought that my computer had frozen before all the images were loaded! It said 1 degree. ONE?!

I couldn't believe it! While I'm jealous of the snow, I must agree with my desperately depressed best friend that that is WAY TOO COLD!

Steph and I talk several times a day and so I made sure to call her first to give her my sympathies..and to break the news that the boys were on their way out to the front yard to run some energy off. (I'm always putting a bit of pressure so that maybe she'll just move here with me one day!)

So Auntie Steph...the boys say "COME VISIT US!"

"You Had Me At Hello"

(Keith is on the left next to Seth)

My friend Tanya wrote me today with the most hilarious story and since she was seeking my forgiveness for sharing my previous post to all of my friends-I told her I would repay her by blabbing her lunch events to my blog friends! (It's way better than my yeast infection story!-BTW...I SO didn't care, Tanya! You tell a story way better than I do!)

Anyway...

Apparently she and her husband met today for lunch at a deli here in our town. Keith, her husband, arrived before her and went up to the counter to order. He said there was a blonde lady in sunglasses with a couple of friends and he thought that her voice sounded familiar but it wasn't until she turned to him and gave him permission to go ahead of her to order, that he realized it was Renee Zellweger.

Renee and George (Clooney) are in town filming a movie and a couple of my friends have spotted her around the city at various places. George, sadly, appears to be sending his "people" for things he needs.

"Sad" about that REALLY doesn't describe it...but back to my story! Focus, Charity...Focus!

So, Keith orders and sits down and when Tanya arrives he fills her in on the celebrity sighting. She, of course, agrees that it is Renee and I'm sure many fun minutes followed as they ate their lunch and enjoyed the view feeling very excited about the new story they would tell all of their friends.

Funniest part though...

When Keith left the restaurant he made his way over to the table where he handed Renee a napkin with the words "You Complete Me" written inside!

Renee apparently laughed and thanked him and then went on to show the message to her friends.

Keith is now my new hero!

I have giggled about this for hours.

I am having dinner with Tanya and Keith this Friday and I can't wait to hear the whole thing AGAIN in person! I'm sure it will only inspire Anne more to dress us all up and head out to stalk Clooney this weekend! I'll be sure to video tape if said stalking does occur!

Thanks, Renee, for mixing with the little people! You really made my day!

Little known Charity fact: Favorite Renee movie is "The Whole Wide World" where she starred with Vincent D'onofrio about the man that wrote the Conan the Barbarian tales. What can I say? It hit a nerve!

"Please Pray for My Mom..."

I have, for several years now, been focusing my time of church service in more "behind the scenes" sort of ways. It has been great for many reasons but the greatest (while not the most righteous) is that you have WAY less opportunities for the the "humbling" that you get when you do stuff in front of people.

Today at church, it became increasingly clear to me that God intended to do some work in the area of humility in my life. In fact, the process began more in the middle of the week. I should have known that I was asking for it.

In some form or another all day, I have found myself in precarious situations or enduring advice and scoldings until I was entertaining fantasies of running off the stage at church and retreating to my nice, warm bed at home!

I thought I would share with you how my night ended...Steph has been bugging me for another new blog and as soon as I lived through the final moments at church...I new that I could give her a laugh by blogging about it.

Right before I ascended the steps to sing with my praise team, Sam's Sunday school teacher plopped down beside me (with an enormous grin on her face) and began to tell me about Sam's class this morning and what he asked for in prayer time. She said, "Besides the fact that Sam is brilliant..he is SO hilarious! I have to tell you what his prayer request was this morning!"

She then went on to quote Sam. He said, "Could you please pray for my mom. She has a yeast infection and if she gets to level four then she will die!"

Oh...My...Gosh!

I wanted to crawl under the pews and disintegrate into nothingness.

I went on to explain to her the reality of my health situation to no real avail since word in the mom circle around my church now is that I am somehow dying from a stage four yeast infection! Women have actually asked Matt if I'm okay!

Oh..My...Gosh!

The truth is that I have been sick for some time now and am THRILLED to have discovered that I do have a high level of a particular yeast in my body. Happily for me, it is not located in any one particular area of my body (sorry guys!) but that is, unfortunately, usually assumed when it is discussed. When yeast is unbalanced...you will go through stages and ultimately, it can really be serious but I am LIGHT YEARS from stage four.

Apparently, this has all been discussed in Sam's earshot and so he felt the need to share it with our rather LARGE church family.

I am expecting the pray chain to be called tomorrow and to get on the meal list for next week.

Wow.

Embarrassing.

Now, I am going to my bed...where I probably should have just stayed this morning!
