My Day

I hesitate to record the events of my Mother's Day weekend because I love my friend Stephanie and I don't want to cause her unnecessary pain by tempting her to envy me and my life...

BUT!

Yesterday. Totally unplanned and unexpected...I was left the entire day with just Josiah (who is officially titled the easiest child to raise and other than about ten minutes I didn't hear a peep from him for 6 hours while he played with a rock?...or a string off his pants?) while Sam went to work with Matt. I cleaned up the house a bit due to the fact that I cannot relax in a messy environment (I'm a control freak and maybe I got some involuntary blood transfusion from my friend Sandy in high school) and then I sat down on the couch...

Where I read an entire book!

AN ENTIRE BOOK!!!

It took me about 12 hours but I read one of my new Sophie Kinsella books and it was fantastic. A few of my favorite Hugh Grant movies in the background and plenty of snacks and Mountain Dew...

It was paradise.

I awoke this morning-when my eyes opened!!! I was greeted by Milo and the boys who gave me the cards they made last night (somewhere around chapter 12)-and I sipped on some OJ and toast while watching Tyler Florence tell me how to make fish and chips.

Leisurely got ready for church anticipating wearing my Easter dress for the first time since it was TOO cold to wear it at Easter...

Church and out to eat at my new favorite diner where I was forced by my family and the waitress to order before mentioned Fish and chips ( NOT a usual for me-I don't do much fried food. I'm into "fresh").

I am home now and my husband (who is apparently trying to win some award) just whisked both boys off to work, again and I am preparing to sit in the sun and read the newspaper while I sip sweet tea.

AHHHH...

Really, my boys are so big now that I love having them all the time but it is the quietness that is not familiar to my life right now. Almost too quiet...

But, I'll find a way to deal with it!

Happy Mother's Day, friends...I hope your day was as nice as mine was!

Ahhh - so nice for you. Let's just say that I won't be typing the sweet things that Gary did for me... you can either take that to mean he didn't do anything or that I just won't share it on the comments...I'll let you guess.
Very envious - but glad for you, as I know everyone needs a break to enjoy a whole book... and sunshine... *sigh*
I will say that per the men not wanting to go out to eat today - Mom, Grandma and I went to eat together while the men stayed at my mom's with the boys. It was good for Grandma to be able to get away and I think it was nice for Grandpa to get out of the house for an hour too. Plus, I did get some good pictures - I'll post those tonight.

Ok - for someone who claims not to have much money you always have very cute clothes on :-)

Thank you...I think?

I've learned the art of buying pieces that can be used in various ways and not just as singles! It has saved my life of poorness!

I was allowed to buy an Easter dress this year BEFORE the septic started showing in the yard!

I got it for $12.00! What a bargain!

(I'm feeling the need to explain myself to someone who doesn't have the guts to say who they are...why is that?)

it wasn't me, thats for sure! I say if you want to buy something new for yourself, you deserve it! It is always great to look great! I have been there to see how frugal you can be, so no guilt there;) Great pics, I am glad you had a great day. I had to work, but I got SO much love from my two baby girls at lunch ahead of time. I feel pretty blessed as a Mamma!

Thank you, Sandy...

You've know my pain and you're a true friend! :)

I'm sure it was just a friendly joke, right?

You DO have cute clothes! I wish you lived closer - I'd be borrowing them! (Although the money dig was kinda inappropriate -makes a person feel defensive and that isn't really any of our business) Send that $12 dress my way will ya?

....*hilarious giggling*...

Always good to see My best friend dust off her wit and go to bat for me...

For my anonymous comment-You've apparently and probably "accidently" commented your way into an increasingly bad day for Charity. I have very few readers that don't love me dearly so I'm not taking anything personal.

I hope you won't either! :-)

I'm so afraid to post as anonymous, seeing as how that hasn't gone so well for you today, but unlike the previous anonymous post, I will sign my name! I'll admit, when you told me of the 12 hour book-a -thon last night, I added up the decades before that is a possibility for me and it was a little sad, but you know.. at the same time..good. Hope your day improves friend. LORI
